Building Me

Building Me

Welcome!

I’m so glad you found me. Now that you’re here, you’re probably wondering who I am.

Well, my name is HQ, and I’m the new Mazuma headquarters building.

“That’s impossible,” you’re probably saying to yourself. “You’re an inanimate object. Inanimate objects don’t talk!”

Oh yeah? Tell that to my little toy friends over at Pixar. They’ve been walkin’ and talkin’ for years!

Still a bit confused? See, this is a blog about a building. And I AM that building. So who better to blog about it than yours truly?

Yup. A talking building. Never again will you have to utter the words, “If these walls could talk…”

Because these walls can.

Makes sense? Great.

Now that we’ve been formally introduced, let me give you the 4-1-1 so you’re completely in the loop:

Right now, I’m just a pile of dirt and land. But by the time the fall of 2014 rolls around, I’ll transform into a magnificent three-story, 60,000-square-foot building. Optimus Prime’s got nothing on me.

You’re also probably wondering where I ‘m going to live. Well, you’re in luck. My new home is located in the Shoppes at Deer Creek Woods, which is on the northwest corner of 135th and Metcalf Ave. in Overland Park, Kan.

It’s the perfect spot for me. It’s a beautiful area, and I’ll never be lonely because I’m close to tons of fun shops, beautiful homes and delicious food.

Speaking of food, let’s talk about what’s going to fill me up once I’m completed. It’ll be a strange breed of characters known as Mazumans. This includes the management staff, Member Call Center, Debit/Credit Card Services, E-Services, Training & Development, subsidiary companies, information technology offices and a “Monkees” cover band that’s made up of actual monkeys. (OK, not really. But I bet I got your attention.)

And in case you’re wondering who helped create me, their names are Level5, Praxis3 and Sky Design. Yeah, I’ve got three parents. It’s the 21st century. Get over it.

Level5, based in Atlanta, specializes in construction management for financial institutions. Praxis3 is the architect and Sky Design is providing interior design services. So, yeah, I’m kind of a big deal.

OK, I’ve gotta make like a (Mazuma) branch and split. I know, I know. I already miss you too! But don’t worry — I’ll post again soon, I promise. In the meantime, check out the rest of my site and get to know me. I’ve been told I’m like a young Fabio, ’cause I’ve got really great features.

Catch ya later,
HQ

  1. I am glad to hear about your new state of art building that is going to be built in the State of Kansas.. We have come a long way since the “Federal Employees Credit Union” started. I am sure that the HQ employees are either happy to work in Kansas with zero Kansas City MO e-Tax or upset about driving all the way to O.P. Kansas to work. Did the city fathers try to keep you in Kansas City MO with tax breaks etc?

    Thank you for your time.

    • Thanks Alan. We’ve certainly come a long way! We did a lot of research on where to best place the HQ to minimize the commute for our Members and Team Members. Our awesome 6,000 Johnson County Members brought us into Overland Park rather than any incentives. And we’re thrilled to be here!
