Check Out My Curves

Check Out My Curves

Hey there, everyone! How’s it hanging? How you doin’?

Feelin’ blue? As in cold?

I’m not! My heater’s keeping things nice and warm because I have electricity now! Look at these breakers:

I’m still a couple of months away from “after” pics, but I’ve got some great “during” pictures to show you. It’s T-minus-two months until I open my doors to the public and the lucky Mazumans who will be working in me. Time’s passing super quickly, so I’m doing everything I can to get ready for the big day, from wiring to beautification to holding some of my very first meetings. Yes, actual business meetings!

To start off with, I have cables everywhere. Cables in boxes, cables bundled in the brightest rooms you can imagine, cables hiding in the server room, just waiting to be hooked up to hundreds of computers so that Mazumans can do their work. Check it out:

That’s a fantastic grassy lime green on those walls, isn’t it? And the server room is that room with the bank of doors on the left and the bright blue walls. Gotta do what I can to keep people happy while they’re working with the server – green and blue walls are way more fun than beige, ya know? I absolutely had to have bright summery colors in places without windows so that anyone who can’t see the bright sunshine outdoors can still have cheerful surroundings.

But what I really want to do is show you some then and now photos. That way you can see the progress that’s happened since the summer and how nicely I’m coming along. I’m starting to look super sweet, everyone.

Here’s the Atrium in June, where all the girders were still hanging out everywhere, and the Atrium now:

The drywall is going up, so that you can really see the shape now with all the cool angles I get to show off right when you walk in.

Remember the drive thru tubes in July, just hanging out in a wide open space? Here they are now walled in to the drive thru area:

My branch? It has swoopy ceiling designs now! I told you I’d have some pretty nice curves… It’s way cooler looking than it looked in July, when duct work was the only thing visible:

Speaking of ceilings, my board room is taking shape. Before, all I had was a pile of random curved metal pieces. Now, all those curved metal pieces are in place and my board room has a sci-fi sorta feeling. Doesn’t it look like flying saucers dropping in?

A couple of months ago, my elevators were open holes with the elevator itself stuck between floors. Now they’re all framed and everything! I’ll get elevator buttons installed soon, and they’ll be ready to ride!

Some of my final beautification has started, too. I’m getting bathroom tile now:

And I got some brand new shades. Check this out:

sun shades

Those are sun shades along the South-facing side of my building. They’ll block just enough of the light coming in that no one hanging out on the inside will be blinded by a direct blast of too much sunshine.

I know I’m getting closer to opening, because Mazumans are starting to camp out and have meetings here! Not just construction meetings, either, but real, true, honest-to-goodness business meetings. I caught a quick picture of an accounting meeting taking place in what will one day be my employee gym:

That wraps up my updates right now, but there are even more exciting things around the bend as I get more paint and furniture and the final touches on my Lego wall.
Yep, I’m going to have a LEGO WALL. It’s okay if you’re jealous.

That’s that for now. I hope you’re doing well and getting ready for the holidays. If you’re nearby, stop and see me!
